Earl C. Moe, 88
Earl C. Moe, 88, of Bemidji died Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bemidji Kingdom Hall.
The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji assisted the family with arrangements.
He was born May 25, 1920, to Martin and Adelia Moe in Bemidji. He attended school in Bemidji and worked at the County Farm. On March 18, 1942, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and was wounded in action in July 1944 in St. Lo, France. He received an honorable discharge Dec. 11, 1944. On May 3, 1946, he married Lois Statton. They lived in Bemidji until 1949 and then moved to Tenstrike and raised their family. Besides farming, he worked at NuPly, Beltrami County and the Blackduck Creamery. He owned and operated the Cozy Corner Store in Tenstrike from 1963-1967. He continued farming until 1995 when he retired and moved to their present home in Bemidji. He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and made many friends in both the Blackduck and Bemidji congregations. He also enjoyed woodworking and giving his handy work to friends and family. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of Bemidji; sons, Michael of Tenstrike and Robert of Bemidji; daughters, Linda (Danny) Lawrence of Minneapolis, Minn., Patti (Les) Houser of St. George, Utah, and Allyson (Jon) Dancker of Bemidji; four grandchildren; brother, Rueben of Tooele of Utah; sisters, Lucille of Bemidji and Arlene of Blackduck.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lyle, William, Arnold and sisters, Darlene and Ione.
