Dwight Lindquist

Dwight Lindquist

Dwight Hollis Lindquist returned to his Lord and Savior, September 16, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Dwight was born on December 12, 1943 in Lander, Wyoming, the third of eight children, to Hollis and Julia Lindquist. Dwight grew up in California, then moved with his first wife Della Anderson to Bemidji, Minnesota, where his children were born and raised. While in Bemidji, Dwight owned a dairy farm and worked in construction for over 20 years. He returned permanently to California in 1985 where he worked for his family at National Builders Supply in Farmersville until he retired. He greatly enjoyed his time as a volunteer firefighter in Farmersville and Exeter, where he was always one of the first to respond when someone was in need. His work as a volunteer firefighter lead to Dwight meeting his second wife, Kathy Avila, when they both responded to an emergency call. Dwight was a true family man; he liked nothing better than to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren whom he adored. Papa was a master at fixing things and was always more than happy to have his grand babies tag along; teaching them how to use a hammer and drill. Dwight was an exceptional husband, father, Papa, brother, son, and friend. He was deeply loved and his passing has left an enormous hole in our hearts.

Dwight is survived by his wife, Kathy (I will miss you my love!), children Bill (Debbie) Lindquist of Exeter, CA; Lori (Bruce) Christianson of Bemidji, MN; Ron (Jennifer) Lindquist of Bakersfield, CA; Greg Lindquist of Bemidji, MN. His inherited daughters, Stacy (Michael) Manning of Dinuba, CA; Jenny (Ron) Lindquist of Bakersfield,CA; Mindy (Michael) Jenan of Visalia, CA. His brothers Lyle (Leora) of Laporte, MN; Richard (Barbara) of Bemidji, MN; Paul (Bonnie) of Bemidji, MN; sisters Julie (Greg) Tweed of Bemidji, MN; Kathleen (Dennis) Chandler of Vermillion, SD; Christine Lindquist of Lexington, MO; Uncle Johnny Lindquist of Oconto, NE; His many beloved grandchildren: Nikki, Michael, Marisha, Haylie, Levi, Hunter, Holly, Madison, Brandon, Justin, Meagan, Matthew, Bryce, Parker, Mirissa, Audrianna, Aiden, AnnaBelle and his many extended family. Dwight was preceded in death by his first wife Della (Anderson), brother Melvin Lindquist, and parents Hollis and Julia Lindquist.
