Tyler Ray Nord,21, of Duluth, was originally charged with attempted felonious restraint, but the charge was amended to misdemeanor unlawful restraint in exchange for his guilty plea today.

Authorities say Nord tried to walk off with Amanda Steckler's then 7-week-old infant in July. Police say the baby was in a car seat next to the vehicle while Steckler tended to another child in the vehicle.

Authorities say Nord attempted to take the child in its carrier but Steckler would not let go.

Police arrested Nord about two hours later in West Fargo, N.D.,after responding to a call about a suspicious person.
