Duane Steven Bedeau

Duane Steven Bedeau, 59, of Cass Lake, died Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Cass Lake Indian Health Services.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Veterans Memorial Building in Cass Lake. A visitation will begin at 7 p.m. today at the Veterans Memorial Building and continue until the time of service. Burial will be in St. John's Episcopal Cemetery in Onigum.

Dennis Funeral Home of Cass Lake assisted the family with arrangements.

He was born Dec. 9, 1949, to Daniel Ellis and Eliza Bedeau in Onigum, Minn. He grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from South High School. He held various jobs until he enrolled in the Leech Lake Tribal College in Cass Lake where he earned a degree in engineering. Following college he worked for the Leech Lake Housing Authority. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, ricing, attending rodeos, cooking, drawing and painting and watching football and baseball games. He also enjoyed riding his Harley to Sturgis, S.D.

He is survived his sons, Talon Bedeau, Mark Cloud, Bradley Cloud and Mike Marchaud; daughters, Lisa Marchaud, Stacey Cloud, Stephanie Cloud and Jodi Bedeau; 18 grandchildren; a brother, Kenny Bedeau; sister, Charlotte White; and special friend and companion, Marilyn Drumbeater.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda Bedeau.
