Drivers recovering from their injuries

The drivers of the two vehicles that collided Tuesday afternoon at U.S. Highway 71 and Beltrami County Road 23 are doing pretty well.

Kalli R. Mostad, 28, of Bemidji, was listed in good condition Wednesday at North Country Regional Hospital. Deborah A. Lund, 43, of Blackduck, was treated and released at the hospital on Tuesday.

Mostad was driving a red Toyota Matrix on County Road 23 at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday when she entered Highway 71 near Turtle River and failed to yield to a Chevrolet Suburban driven by Lund, who was traveling north on Highway 71.

Lund's vehicle struck the right side of Mostad's vehicle, and both drivers were transported to North Country Regional Hospital with injuries.

Both drivers had been wearing their seat belts prior to the crash. Their vehicles were totaled.
