Driver killed in rollover crash near Bemidji is identified

A man was killed in a rollover accident at 10:37 p.m. Monday on U.S. Highway 2 near the intersection with state Highway 89, according to the Minnesota State Patrol out of Thief River Falls.

Brodie Camp, 20, of Bagley, was taken to North Country Regional Hospital and pronounced dead, according to the State Patrol.

Camp was driving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix east in the right lane when the driver swerved to avoid a deer lying on the highway, the State Patrol reported.

Camp over-corrected, entered the median and rolled, coming to a rest in the westbound lane, the State Patrol reported.

Camp, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected, according to the State Patrol.

The vehicle was totaled.
