Driver killed in accident near Clearbrook this morning

A driver was killed this morning after the person's car went off a Clearwater County road and started on fire, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

A patrol dispatcher said the incident happened at approximately 8 a.m. The driver was eastbound on state Highway 92 about 1 mile west of Clearbrook, Minn., when the driver's 1997 Oldsmobile Aurora went off the left side of the road, hit the ditch and started on fire.

A dispatcher with the Clearwater County Sheriff's office, which also responded, said the vehicle was reported at 8:20 a.m. The crash is still under investigation, and authorities haven't identified the name, gender or residence of the victim.
