Dream Catcher becomes teaching tool

Derek Peterson, left, leads a group activity Saturday at the American Indian Resource Center. Using a dream catcher woven between participants' fingers, Peterson discussed the roles of culture and nurture and how they relate to different types of people and their development. At right is participant Michael Donnell of Red Lake. Peterson, who works with the United Nations and promotes youth development, was in Bemidji during a Minnesota tour of seven cities sponsored by the Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault.
