The Beavers (2-2, 0-1 NSIC) stayed with the Dragons for the first eight minutes of the game, but after that it was all Moorhead. The Dragons led 47-25 at the half.

"It really got away from us," said Beavers coach Mike Curfman. "It was 18-14 with about 12 minutes to go in the half, then it was 37-20 with about six minutes left. They played well, hats off to them, but that six-minute stretch really killed us."

Moorhead dominated every aspect of the game in the first half, outrebounding Bemidji State 21-11. The Dragons also made 7 of 13 shots from behind the 3-point line, compared to Bemidji's 2-of-10 shooting.

After making their first two 3-point shots, the Beavers missed their next 17, finishing the game 2 of 19 from behind the arc.

"We shot awful." Curfman said. "If you are going to shoot from that far like that, you better have more than nine offensive rebounds."

The Dragons were led by junior forward Angie Jetvig, who scored 17 of her game-high 22 points in the first and also grabbed five rebounds.

"She is one of the better players in the conference." Curfman said. "She has gotten better each year. She can post up, she can shoot the 3, and she can play multiple positions."

The Beavers did not have a scorer in double figures, but were led by sophomore center Jessie Althoff, who finished with seven points and three rebounds. Freshman guard Melissa Borstner added a team-high six rebounds.

The Beavers will return to action at 4 p.m. today, hosting Minnesota-Crookston.
