Staff from Omaha-based RDG Planning & Design will host an open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Hampton Inn & Suites.

A short presentation is scheduled for 6 p.m., which will be followed by a question-and-answer time.

The Bemidji City Council and Downtown Development Authority have been invited, and all interested members of the public are welcome.

The study will not only show how five areas of the city could be redeveloped, but it also will present the plans and strategies for implementation to the community.

The study examines the traditional downtown; the south shore of Lake Bemidji; the isthmus, or the link between the two along Paul Bunyan Drive; the railroad corridor and the former Minnesota Department of Transportation site.

For details, contact Bemidji Community Development Director Rita Albrecht at 759-3580 or e-mail rita.albrecht@ci.bemidji.mn.us.

The open house is sponsored by the DDA, city of Bemidji, RDG and the Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce.
