Dorothy M. Rossum, 90, of Frazee, died Monday, January 12, 2009 at St. Mary's Innovis Health in Detroit Lakes.
Dorothy Marie Krueger was born to Otto and Ethel (Mansfield) Krueger on March 6, 1918 in Baraboo, Wis. As a child in Baraboo, Dorothy enjoyed helping her father feed the elephants for the Barnum & Bailey Circus. They then moved to Mason City, Iowa, where she attended grade school.
After finishing with school, she moved to Missouri, where she met her first husband, Louis Arnold, with whom she had five children. After Louis died, she met and married her second husband, William Teske, and moved to Frazee, where she was widowed again and married her third husband, Jerry Rossum.
Dorothy led an adventurous life, and enjoyed caring for her clients at the Teske Group Home until she retired.
Surviving Dorothy are her children, Beatrice Bixler of Lake Park, Henry Arnold of Detroit Lakes, Earnest (Darcus) Arnold of Frazee, and Leona Smith of Frazee; stepson, Marvin (Mary) Teske; 13 grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond (LaVerne) Krueger.
Preceding Dorothy in death were her husbands, Louis Arnold, William Teske and Jerry Rossum; son, Olen Arnold; grandson, Olen Arnold Jr.; and two sons-in-law, Pius Smith and William Bixler.
A memorial service for Dorothy is scheduled to take place at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, in the activity room at the Frazee Care Center, Frazee. Inurnment will be in the spring.
