Doris Marie (Haga) Rose, 91, of Bemidji, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at the North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church in Bemidji with the Rev. Jim Darchuk officiating. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home in Bemidji and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji.
The pallbearers will be Mike Lindsey, Josh Sander, Derek Schummer, Vince VanAntwerpen, Charlie Schummer and Herb South.
She was born May 28, 1917, to Andrew and Selma (Sorenson) Haga in Minnesota. She grew up and attended school in Clearbrook. She worked at various jobs in the area. She married George Rose Nov. 12, 1938, in Bagley. They moved to Bemidji where she worked at Walgreen Drug in downtown Bemidji for 25 years. She enjoyed camping with her family, playing cards, dancing, bowling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Charlie) Schummer of Bemidji; a granddaughter; four great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a grandson; a brother and a sister.
