Doris "Dorie" Joan Jacobson, 74, of Kelliher, died on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at the Cornerstone Residence in Kelliher.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Cornerstone Residence in Kelliher.

The honorary pallbearers will be her family and friends.
She was born June 5, 1934, to Elizabeth and Joseph Balchunas in Chicago. She attended schools and graduated from high school in Chicago. She loved Shirley Temple and would dress up like her and go out to play. In her early 20s, she was employed as an AT&T operator, where she manually transferred each call. She worked as a waitress in Chicago from 1962-1974. She married John Pistolarides in 1969. She enjoyed music and dance and was known as "Dorie Luxe." She was also a stand-in for Marilyn Monroe. She moved to Gully in 1975 and then to Blackduck in 1982. She spent her last 10 years at Cornerstone Residence in Kelliher.
She is survived by her sons, Paul Pistolarides of Chicago, Phillip Pistolarides of Richmond, Va., and Duane Jacobson of Bemidji.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, John Pistolarides in 1982.
