Des Moines television station KCCI says the dog, Jackie, was traveling with Cody and Colby Bostick and their infant son, Easton, on Dec. 21 when the accident occurred on Interstate 35 near Webster City. The 27-year-old Colby Bostick died in the crash. Jackie ran from the scene.

On Tuesday a Minnesota woman found the dog along the interstate in Story County and took her home. The woman posted an item online in an attempt to find the dog's owner.

Cody Bostick, who has since moved to Texas, exchanged photos with the woman and confirmed the dog is Jackie.

They're making plans to get Jackie back with her family.
