Dog sledding topic of featured Bemidji library program

The history of Minnesota dog sledding, featuring an appearance by musher and veterinary technician Charlotte Wolf, will be the topic of a program at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 10 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2508 Washington Ave. SE, Bemidji.

The event, sponsored by the Bemidji Public Library, is free and appropriate for all ages.

Advance registration is encouraged to reserve a seat, and drop-ins will be allowed as space permits. Parent permission forms will be required for children age 15 and younger.

In addition to talking about the history of dog sledding, Wolf and her team of dogs will offer sled rides. Attendees at the event will learn about the dogs, equipment, history of Minnesota dog sledding and the commands to direct the dogs in their trail runs.
