Difficult driving conditions reported in Bemidji area, motorists urged to use caution
BEMIDJI, Minn. - The Minnesota Department of Transportation advises extreme caution when traveling in the northwest area of the state, due to icy roads caused by wet snow compaction and wind.
A news release issued late this afternoon from the Bemidji DOT office said snow plow operators are "doing their part to make highways safe."
Motorists are urged to drive slowly on bridges, overpasses and tunnels, use a safe speed for winter driving conditions, keep a safe stopping distance from the vehicle in front of you and keep attention on driving.
