DFLers endorse Olson, Persell, Bye

WALKER -- Senate 4 Democrats this morning endorsed Sen. Mary Olson and House 4A Rep. John Persell for re-election bids, and Meg Bye for a return run at Rep. Larry Howes, R-Walker, in House 4B.

Olson and Persell, both of Bemidji, faced opposition but won endorsement by wide margins. Olson was faced by Greg Paquin of Bemidji and Persell faced Nicole Beaulieu,also of Bemidji.Bye of rural Pequot Lakes was unopposed in her bid to run again against Howes, now in hid sixth term.

The date of a Republican endorsing convention is unknown yet, but Olson would face John Carlson of Bemidji. Two Republicans -- Richard Lehmann and David Myers, both of Bemidji -- want to run against Persell. Howes has no GOP opposition for endorsement.
