The state restrictions will be in place throughout the Bemidji region except for Red Lake and western Polk County, west of County Road 6 and north of Minnesota Highway 92.

All permits need to expire on or before 8 a.m. Monday.

Requests for variance permits for agriculture and construction can be made to a Department of Natural Resources forester for approval by calling the Bemidji Area Office at 308-2065, the Bagley Field Station at 694-2146 or the Cass Lake Field Station at 335-6647.

For more information about burning restrictions and wildfires, visit the DNR website at www.dnr.state.mn.us.

Campfires do not require a permit, but must be in a fire ring, attended, no larger than 3 feet in diameter, and must be extinguished before leaving, according to the Sheriff's Office.
