BEMIDJI -- A Cass County deputy was injured Monday morning in a rollover crash near Bemidji.

Luke Rasmus, a deputy with the the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, was heading west on Roosevelt Road near Adelia Road in Frohn Township when he ran off the road and his squad car rolled, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The crash was reported about 6 a.m.

According to the State Patrol, which is investigating:

Rasmus was transported from the scene by ambulance to Sanford Bemidji Medical Center and then taken by Life Flight to Sanford Medical Center Fargo.

The extent of his injuries was not immediately known.

Rasmus was wearing his seatbelt and the airbags did deploy. The squad, a 2013 Ford Taurus, was severely damaged.
