Depth carries Bemidji gymnasts past Little Falls

LITTLE FALLS – Haley Gregg scored 33.475 to finish second in the all around and lead the Bemidji High School gymnastics team to a 127.60-127.15 victory over Little Falls Friday.

Rachelle LeBlanc of Little Falls was the meet’s top gymnast as she won all four events and captured the all around with a score of 36.625.

The Lumberjacks, however, had more depth and that advantage proved to be the difference.

Amy Carey was second to LaBlanc on the floor exercise and the balance beam. Carey scored 8.425 on the floor and 7.95 on the beam.

She also was fifth on the bars (7.2) and fourth on the vault (8.65).

Gregg placed second on the bars (7.25) and was third on the vault (8.7), fourth on the floor (8.35) and fifth on the beam (7.45).

The Lumberjacks also were second on the vault where Alyshia Moe scored 8.875.

Sara Erickson’s top finishes were fourths on the beam (7.55) and the bars (7.325).

Bemidji returns to action Thursday at a triangular hosted by Fargo South.
