Defending champ Curb takes lead in Vandersluis
Defending champion Chris Curb of Bemidji fired a 5-under-par 67 Sunday to surge into the lead in the Vandersluis Memorial golf tournament at Bemidji Town & Country Club.

Curb holds a two-stroke lead over Bruce Hegland of Apple Valley and Johnny Larson of Springfield heading into Monday's final 18 holes.
First-round leaders Brandon Myers of Motley and Clint Cornell of Grand Rapids remain in contention despite rough rounds on Sunday. Myers shot a 73 and is three shots behind Curb. Cornell shot a 75 and is five shots behind the leader.
Brent Armstrong of Winnipeg rebounded from a 79 on Saturday to shoot 70 and take a one-shot lead over St. Cloud's Ray Sauer in the Senior Men's division.
