Deerwood Bank is Partner for the Future with Boys and Girls Club
BEMIDJI – Deerwood Bank of Bemidji has donated $1,000 to become a Partner of the Future with the Boys and Girls Club of the Bemidji Area.
As part of Deerwood Bank’s philosophy for being a successful community bank, “we must be committed to our communities and have a unique ability to know and serve our markets,” said Phil Verchota, Deerwood Bank’s Northern Market president.
The partnership supports the Boys and Girls Club mission: “To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens”
“With Deerwood’s commitment to youth development through the Club’s five core program areas – character and leadership, education and career, health and life skills, the arts and sports, fitness and recreation – they are able to bring hope and opportunity to many youth and their families, regardless of their financial situation,” said Boys and Girls Club Executive Director Andrea Ohnstad. “Due to our minimal amount of state and federal funding accounting for less than 15 percent of our budget, we look to engage our Bemidji businesses and individuals as well as local foundations to see the real and lasting impact the Club’s programs and prevention curriculum can make on our community.”
