Deer hunter who died in fall near Bemidji identified

A Melrose, Minn., man died Saturday morning apparently after he fell out of his deer stand east of Bemidji, authorities said.

According to the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, Anthony Vossen, 47, fell Saturday morning when the strap holding his portable deer stand broke.

The incident was reported at 7:50 a.m.
