David Carl Degerman
David Carl Degerman, 57, of Los Angeles, formerly of Bemidji, died on Monday, March 16, 2009, in Los Angeles.
He was born on March 12, 1952, to Carl Degerman and Evelyn (Folkert) Degerman in Bemidji. He was raised in Bemidji and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1970. He served in the U.S. Navy as a communications technician specializing in the Korean language from 1970-1974. After his service, he attended the University of Minnesota and graduated in 1978, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and French. He went on to attend UC Berkley Law School-Boalt Hall and received his law degree in 1982. He was a member of the State Bar of California and practiced business law in California from 1982-2009. He was involved in the VKCPC youth ministry, Bel-Air Deacon Ministry and Bel-Air Stephen Ministry.
He is survived by his wife, Im Jo Degerman; daughters, Christina Kim Degerman and Sarah Kim Degerman, both of Granada Hills, Calif.; sons, Edward Matther Degerman, and John Matthew Degerman, both of Granada Hills, Calif.; a sister, Diane (Rich) Amyot of Wynnutshill, N.Y.; brothers, Dwight (Karen) Degerman of Concord, N.C., Douglas (Patty) Degerman of Oakdale, Minn., and Roger (Rita) Degerman of Moorhead, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Evelyn Degerman.
