Dannel Kay Wilcowski, 46, of Bemidji, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji with the Rev. Frank Mattingly officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the spring in Moose Lake Cemetery in Pennington under the direction of Cease Family Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jackie Messner, Reuben Wilcowski, Jerry Reinhertz, Jimmy Wilcowski, Dennis "Bucky" Kise, Raymond Wilcowski and Tim Collins.
She was born Oct. 18, 1962, to Danie and Kay (Le Claire) Preston in Bemidji. She was raised and educated in Bemidji. She worked at the U.S. Forest Services, Bald Eagle Center, in the YACC program; Nelson Eggs near Zerkel, Minn., and at Anderson Fabrics in Blackduck. She married Emory Wilcowski March 14, 1982, in Sugarbush, Minn.
She enjoyed wood carving, crochet, collecting movies, playing solitaire on the computer and keeping birds, including chickens and a parrot.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Clay Wilcowski of Bemidji; parents, Danie and Kay Preston of Bemidji; brothers, Henry (Jennifer) Preston of Bemidji and Clancy (Ruth) Preston of Wisconsin; a sister, Rita Vossen of Sauk Rapids, Minn.; and a grandmother, Cathleen Le Claire of Taconite, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.
