Dad revives 10-year-old Moorhead boy who got hung up in rope swing
MOORHEAD - A 10-year-old Moorhead boy who accidentally hung himself in a rope swing is in a Fargo hospital after his father revived him with CPR, Moorhead police said.
First responders were called at about 6:15 p.m. Thursday to the 3300 block of 39th Street South for a report of a 10-year-old boy who had been hanging by a rope in the garage and wasn't breathing.
Lt. Tory Jacobson said the child had been playing on the rope swing, which hangs from a rafter in the garage and has a loop in the end, when he got hung up on the swing.
The boy's father performed CPR and got a pulse, and the boy was taken to Innovis Health, Jacobson said.
Innovis spokeswoman Kris Olson confirmed the boy is a patient there but said the hospital is respecting the family's wishes not to release any other information at this time.
No foul play is suspected, Jacobson said.
