Cronin joins BREC management team
Industry veteran Michael Cronin has been named the director of Facility Operations for the Bemidji Regional Event Center, managed by VenuWorks.
He will be responsible for all aspects of the physical plant of the facility, including equipment repair and preventative maintenance, engineering, event production, custodial services and grounds landscaping and snow removal.
Cronin joins the BREC after three years at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center, a 2,750-seat theater and 10,000-square-foot ballroom in Atlanta. He also has extensive experience in multi-purpose arenas, having worked for eight years at Hilton Coliseum, the 14,500-seat home of the Iowa State Cyclones basketball, volleyball, gymnastics and wrestling programs. Cronin is an Entertainment Technician Certification Program-certified arena rigger and is a licensed pyro-technician shooter in Georgia.
"Michael's diverse background in event production and facility maintenance make him ideally suited for this position," said Bob LeBarron, executive director. "His experience in both arena and conference settings will greatly benefit the Bemidji Regional Event Center."
Cronin is anticipated to begin his duties June 21.
