PARK RAPIDS - Kodi Craft claimed medalist honors by shooting 34-38-72 on the par-72 Headwaters Golf Course layout and his efforts helped the Bemidji boys golf team capture Friday's Park Rapids Invitational.
BHS finished at 313 and nipped Pequot Lakes by one shot. Moorhead claimed third with 319.
"Obviously, I'm happy with our overall performances and with the team victory but we still have room for improvement. And that's a good thing," said Lumberjacks coach Seth Knudson. "By the time the section tournament comes around we will want to bring our team score down at least 10 shots.
"And we can do that. It's just a matter of getting everyone to play his best on the same day."
Joining Craft in the 70s was Elliot Leinen who finished 38-40-78. Zach Rickers shot 40-40-80 and Trey Dale 38-45-83.
Completing Bemidji's results were Sam Starkey's 41-44-85 and Jake Hoffman's 43-46-89.
"It's hard to complain with our scores," Knudson said. "Now our job is to continue to get a little better each week."
Bemidji returns to action today when it plays in the Sauk Centre Invitational at Greystone Golf Course. Greystone is the site of the section tournament.
