Court Report : Sentencings for March 9

The following cases were heard Feb. 18 by Beltrami District Judge Shari R. Schluchter:

Tony Martin Beck, 51, of Bemidji was sentenced for criminal vehicular homicide or operation to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which 335 days have been stayed for four years. Beck must serve 30 days and may do so on work release if eligible. He has been placed on four years court probation and must pay a $1,000 fine.

The following cases were heard Feb. 21 by Beltrami District Judge Paul T. Benshoof:

Matthew Wynne Lane, 24, of Bemidji was sentenced for stalking to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail, which is stayed for two years. Lane has been placed on two years supervised probation and must pay a $300 fine.

Kevin Lee Clark, 28, of Solway was sentenced for felony domestic assault and a DANCO violation to 97 days in the Beltrami County Jail and has been credited for 65 days time served. Clark has been placed on five years supervised probation upon successful completion of which will result in a misdemeanor conviction. Clark must pay a $1,000 fine.

The following cases were heard Feb. 24 by Beltrami District Judge John G. Melbye:

Concha Edith Isham, 43, of Red Lake was sentenced for theft to 13 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Shakopee, which has been stayed for five years. Isham was ordered to and credited for 17 days time served in the Beltrami County Jail. She has been placed on five years supervised probation and must pay a $1,000 fine.

Michael John White, 30, of Bemidji was sentenced for fifth-degree methamphetamine possession to 13 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud, which has been stayed for five years. He must pay a $1,000 fine.

Robin Renae Davis, 36, of Clearbrook was sentenced for fifth-degree possession of Oxycodone to 30 days in the Beltrami County Jail. She was credited for two days time served. Davis has been placed on five years supervised probation upon successful completion of which will result in a dismissal of the charge.

The following cases were heard Feb. 27 by Beltrami District Judge John G. Melbye:

Daniel John Mechtel, 55, of Bemidji was sentenced for fifth-degree possession of methamphetamine to 46 days in the Beltrami County Jail and placed on five years supervised probation upon successful completion of which will result in a dismissal of the charge.

The following cases were heard March 4 by Beltrami District Judge John G. Melbye:

Robert Douglas Weleski, 45, of Bemidji was sentenced for third-degree DWI to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which 335 days are stayed for three years. Weleski must serve 30 days and was credited for three days time served. Weleski has been placed on three years court probation and must pay a $750 fine which may be done by way of community service.

George Allen Schoenborn, Jr., 34, of Redby was sentenced for third-degree DWI to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which 320 days are stayed for three years. Schoenborn must serve 45 days and may do so on work release if eligible. He has been credited for one day time served. Schoenborn has been placed on three years court probation and must pay a $750 fine, which may be done by way of sentence to serve.

The following cases were heard March 4 by Beltrami District Judge Shari R. Schluchter:

Peter Lee Headbird, 36, of Cass Lake was sentenced for felony second-degree assault to 21 months in the Minnesota Correctional facility in St. Cloud, which has been stayed for seven years. Headbird must serve 172 days in the Beltrami County Jail and has been credited for 115 days. He has been placed on seven years supervised probation and must pay a $1,000 fine, which may be done by way of community service.
