The following cases were heard on Aug. 4 by Beltrami District Judge Paul T. Benshoof:

Riley William Burns, 18, of Bemidji was sentenced for felony first-degree burglary and first-degree aggravated robbery to 58 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud for the burglary charge. He has been credited with 134 days time served. Burns must pay a $50 fine.Burns was sentenced consecutively to 48 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud for the robbery charge.

Theodore Everett Cooper, 22, of Becida was sentenced for felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and fourth-degree DWI to four years supervised probation on the fleeing charge upon successful completion of which will result in a misdemeanor conviction. Cooper must pay a $1,000 fine, which may be done through community service or sentence to serve. Cooper was sentenced to 90 days local confinement in the Beltrami County Jail of which 60 days are stayed for two years for the DWI charge. Cooper must serve 30 days and may do so on work release if eligible. He has been credited with four days time served. Cooper has been placed on two years supervised probation and must pay a $400 fine, which may be done through sentence to serve or community service.

Jennifer Rae Fairbanks, 24, of Red Lake was sentenced for fifth-degree possession of methamphetamine to 81 days local confinement in the Beltrami County Jail. She has been credited with 54 days time served. Fairbanks has been placed on five years supervised probation upon successful completion of which will result in a dismissal of the charge.

Shyleen Kayla Lussier, 27, of Red Lake was sentenced for fifth-degree drug possession to 96 days local confinement in the Beltrami County Jail. Lussier has been credited with 64 days time served. She has been placed on five years supervised probation upon successful completion of which will result in a dismissal of the charge.

Seth Alan Walker, 31, of Nevis was sentenced for felony theft by swindle to 12 months and one day in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud, which is stayed for five years. Walker must serve 70 days local confinement in the Beltrami County Jail and has been credited with 47 days time served. Walker has been placed on five years supervised probation and must pay a $1,000 fine. Walker has also been ordered to pay $7,526.80 in restitution.

Christopher John Wendling, 45, of Bemidji was sentenced for felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and third-degree DWI to 15 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud for the fleeing charge which has been stayed four years. Wendling must pay a $500 fine.

Wendling was sentenced consecutively to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which 335 days are stayed for four years. Wendling must serve 30 days local confinement and has been credited with 12 days time served. He has been placed on four years supervised probation and must pay a $750 fine for the DWI charge.

The following cases were heard on Aug. 4 by Beltrami District Judge John G. Melbye:

Marie Ann Hillman, 39, of Kelliher was sentenced for felony second-degree drug sale to 58 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Shakopee. Hillman has been credited with 314 days time served. She must pay a $50 fine. Hillman was also sentenced for felony third-degree possession of methamphetamine to 33 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Shakopee. She was credited with 314 days time served. Hillman must pay an additional $50 fine.

The following cases were heard on Aug. 5 by Beltrami District Judge Shari R. Schluchter:

Orland James Spears, 23, of Redby was sentenced for felony first-degree burglary and second-degree assault to 69 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud for the burglary charge. Spears must pay a $50 fine, which is stayed. Spears was sentenced consecutively to 21 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud for the assault charge. He must pay an additional $50 fine which is also stayed.
