Court report: Sentencings for April 28, May 2 and 5

The following cases were heard April 28 by Beltrami District Judge John G. Melbye:

Cole Vincent Goggleye, 23, of Cass Lake was sentenced for purchasing and furnishing alcohol to a person under the age of 21 to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail, which is stayed for two years. Goggleye has been placed on two years court probation and must pay a $750 fine which may be done through community service.

The following cases were heard May 2 by Beltrami District Judge John G. Melbye:

Matthew Jon Nelson, 28, of Blackduck was sentenced for felony fourth-degree assault to 12 months and one day in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud, which is stayed for 5 years. Nelson has been placed on five years supervised probation and must pay a $1,000 fine of which $750 is stayed one year.

The following cases were heard May 5 by Beltrami District Judge Shari R. Schluchter:

Tony Brandin Abbott, 30, of Bemidji was sentenced for third-degree DWI to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail, of which 335 days are stayed for four years. Abbott must serve 30 days and may do so on work release if eligible. He has been placed on four years supervised probation and must pay a $1,000 fine.

Chad Charles Adams, 37, of Bemidji was sentenced for felony fifth-degree possession of methamphetamine to 13 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud, which is stayed for 10 years. Adams must serve 180 days in the Beltrami County Jail and has been credited with 120 days time served. Adams has been placed on 10 years supervised probation and must pay a $1,000 fine.

Alicia Ruby Bellanger, 29, of Mahnomen was sentenced for felony check forgery to 12 months and one day in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Shakopee, which is stayed for five years. Bellanger must serve 64 days in the Beltrami County Jail and has been credited with 43 days time served. She has been placed on five years supervised probation and must pay a $1,000 fine which may be done through community service.

Amanda Leigh Fairbanks, 32, of Bemidji was sentenced for fourth-degree DWI to 90 days in the Beltrami County Jail, of which 60 days are stayed for two years. Fairbanks must serve 30 days and has been credited for five days time served. She has been placed on two years court probation and must pay a $200 fine which may be done through community service. Fairbanks was granted a stay of adjudication for a fifth-degree drug possession charge. She was sentenced to 30 days in the Beltrami County jail and credited with five days time served. Fairbanks was placed on five years supervised probation upon successful completion of which will result in a dismissal of the charge.

Bryan James Hathaway, 27, of Bemidji was sentenced for felony fifth-degree possession of methamphetamine and to 64 days in the Beltrami County Jail. He has been placed on five years supervised probation upon successful completion, which will result in a gross misdemeanor charge. Hathaway must pay a $1,000 fine which may be done through community service. Hathaway was sentenced for a theft charge to 90 days in the Beltrami County Jail which is stayed for one year. He has been placed on one year supervised probation and must pay a $50 fine.

Novell Antonio Jackson, 42, of Minneapolis was sentenced for fifth-degree possession of cocaine to 36 days in the Beltrami County Jail. He has been credited with 24 days time served. Jackson has been placed on five years supervised probation upon successful completion, which will result in a dismissal of the charge.

Keanu Joseph Major, 19, of Bemidji was sentenced for second-degree DWI refusal to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which 356 days are stayed for four years. Major must serve nine days and has been credited with nine days time served. He has been placed on four years court probation and must pay a $1,000 fine, which may be done through community service.

Gerralyn Ann McEntyre, 49, of Bemidji was sentenced for third-degree DWI to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which 350 days are stayed for three years. McEntyre must serve 15 days and may do so on work release if eligible. She has been credited with three days time served. McEntyre has been placed on three years court probation and must pay a $750 fine, which may be done through community service.

Dustin Gordon Jacobs, 39, of Bemidji was sentenced for felony domestic assault to 18 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud. He has been credited with 81 days time served. Jacobs must pay a $50 fine. Jacobs was also sentenced for felony weapons possession to 60 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud and credited with 81 days time served. Jacobs was sentenced for fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail and credited with 81 days time served. He must pay a $50 fine.

Jerrold Ryan Kemmer, 34, of Bemidji was sentenced for felony knowingly violating predatory offender registration to 36 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud, which is stayed for five years. Kemmer must serve 30 days in the Beltrami County Jail. He has been placed on five years supervised probation and must pay a $1,000 fine.

Nicole Lee Kramer, 30, of Bemidji was sentenced for four counts of felony financial transaction card fraud to 21 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Shakopee. Kramer has been credited with 141 days time served. She must pay a $50 fine.

David Lance Sizer, 34, of Bemidji was sentenced for felony third-degree burglary to 30 days in the Beltrami County Jail, which may be done through sentence to serve if eligible. He has been credited with eight days time served. Sizer has been placed on five years supervised probation upon successful completion, which will result in a misdemeanor conviction. He must pay a $1,000 fine which may be done through community service.

Daniel Isaiah Benedict Smith, 28, of Red Lake was sentenced for felony second-degree assault to 36 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility. Smith has been credited with 71 days time served. He must pay a $50 fine.
