Sentencings

The following cases were heard on September 23, 2013 by Beltrami District Judge Paul T. Benshoof:

Andrea Lynn Miller, 35, of Bemidji was sentenced to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail for neglect of a child; 346 days of that time is stayed for two years. Miller was credited for 19 days time served and ordered to pay a $300 fine. She has been placed on supervised probation for two years.

Kimberly Marie Buckman, 30, of Bemidji was sentenced to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail for neglect of a child; 361 days of that time is stayed for two years. Buckman served four days in jail and was ordered to pay a $300 fine. She has been placed on supervised probation for two years.

Roy Lee Smith, 46, of Bemidji was sentenced to 90 days in the Beltrami County Jail with credit for 45 days time served. Smith is convicted of fifth-degree possession of methamphetamine. Smith has a 13-month sentence at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud, which is stayed for five years pending successful completion of probation. He has been placed on five years supervised probation and must pay a $1,000 fine.

Christopher Gregory Richard Hardy, 24, of Detroit, was sentenced to 120 days in the Beltrami County Jail with 80 days credit for time served. Hardy is convicted of felony third-degree narcotic drug sales. He has been placed on 20 years supervised probation, upon successful completion of which will result in a misdemeanor conviction. Hardy must also pay a $1,000 fine.

David Wayne Jacobson, 48, of Solway was sentenced to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail; 340 days stayed for three years. Jacobson was convicted of third-degree DWI and must serve 25 days in jail with credit given for 17 days. He has been placed on three years court probation and was fined $250.
