The following cases were heard on October 21, 2013 by Beltrami District Judge John G. Melbye:
Giashamena Atkinson, 34, of Cass Lake was sentenced for obstructing legal process to one year in the Beltrami County Jail of which 333 days are stayed for two years. He was credited for 32 days served. Atkinson was also sentenced for domestic assault to 90 days in the Beltrami County Jail all of which is stayed for two years consecutive with his first charge. Atkinson has been placed on two years supervised probation and must pay$750 in fines. A $1,000 fine for the domestic assault charge is stayed as is $2,250 of a $3,000 fine for the obstruction charge.
The following cases were heard on October 28, 2013 by Beltrami District Judge Shari R. Schluchter:
Kristie Leanne Lussier, 41, of Red Lake was sentenced for giving peace officer false name to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which 335 days are stayed for one year. Lussier must serve 30 days on sentence to serve. She was credited for six days time served. Lussier has been placed on one year court probation and must pay a $250 fine. Lussier was also sentenced for theft to 30 days in the Beltrami County Jail concurrent with her first charge and given a $50 fine which has been stayed.
Jason Joseph Bromm, 22, of Bemidji was sentenced for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance to 30 days in the Beltrami County Jail on work release and was given credit for four days time served. Bromm was given a stay of adjudication in which successful completion of five years supervised probation will result in a dismissal of the charge.
