The following cases were heard on May 7 and 8 by Beltrami District Judge John Melbye:

Donna Jean Staples, 55, of Bemidji was sentenced for felony fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance. She must serve 30 days in jail.

Successful completion of probation will result in a dismissal of the charge.

Matthew James Joy, 28, of Kelliher was sentenced for gross misdemeanor domestic assault. He must serve one year in jail, 335 days of which are stayed for two years.

He was placed on two years probation and must pay a $750 fine.

David Landon Bailey, 52, of Bemidji was sentenced for felony fleeing a peace officer. A sentence of one year and one month at the St. Cloud Correctional facility was stayed for four years. He must serve 90 days in jail. Credit for time served is 27 days.

He was placed on four years probation and must pay a $1,500 fine.

Troy Allen Faughn, 28, of Bemidji was sentenced for gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation. He must serve one year in jail, 335 days of which are stayed for two years.

He was placed on two years probation and must pay a $1,000 fine.

Nathan Bruce Hunt, 29, of Bemidji was sentenced for gross misdemeanor giving false information to a peace officer. He must serve one year in jail, 335 days of which are stayed for two years.

He was placed on two years probation and must pay a $500 fine.

Andrea Ann Stepaniak, 51, of Bemidji was sentenced for gross misdemeanor second-degree DWI. She must serve one year in jail, 275 days of which are stayed for four years. Credit for time served is three days.

She was placed on four years probation and must pay a $1,000 fine.

Earl Robert Headbird, 21, of Cass Lake was sentenced for felony terroristic threats.

He was placed on five years probation, successful completion of which will result in a misdemeanor conviction, and must pay a $500 fine.

Sabin Mitchell Myhra, 22, of Bemidji was sentenced for felony check forgery. He must serve one year and six months at the St. Cloud Correctional Facility. Credit for time served is 146 days.

Marvin Jay Stone, 31, of Bemidji was sentenced for felony terroristic threats. He must serve one year and nine months at the St. Cloud Correctional Facility. Credit for time served is 125 days.

Tammy Jo French, 33, of Ponemah was sentenced for gross misdemeanor third-degree DWI. She must serve one year in jail, all of which is stayed for three years.

She was placed on three years probation and must pay a $500 fine.

Thongkham Soukaroune, 36, of Bemidji was sentenced for gross misdemeanor giving false information to a peace officer. He must serve one year in jail, 346 days of which are stayed for two years. Credit for time served is 19 days.

He was placed on two years probation and must pay a $300 fine.

The following cases were heard on May 1 by Beltrami District Judge Paul Benshoof:

Tyler Thomas Stading, 24, of Hackensack was sentenced for gross misdemeanor third-degree DWI. He must serve one year in jail, 355 days of which are stayed for three years. Credit for time served is two days.

He was placed on three years probation.

Paul Louis Kramer III, 24, of Bemidji was sentenced for gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation. He must serve one year in jail, 275 days of which are stayed for two years.

He must pay a $300 fine.
