Sentencings

The following cases were heard Nov. 18 by Beltrami District Judge Shari R. Schluchter:

Brian Michael Rinkenberger, 26, of Bemidji was sentenced for fifth-degree drug sale to 120 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which he has been credited for 80 days time served. Rinkenberger has been placed on five years supervised probation and must pay a $1,000 fine. Successful completion of probation will result in a misdemeanor conviction.

The following cases were heard Nov. 25 by Beltrami District Judge Paul T. Benshoof:

Ryan James Barrett, 26, of Red Lake was sentenced for giving peace officer a false name to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which 338 days are stayed for two years. Barrett must serve 27 days and has been credited for 17 days time served. He has been placed on two years court probation and must pay a $150 fine.

Theresa Jean Jackson, 28, of Walker was sentenced for driving after cancellation to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which 347 days are stayed for two years. Jackson must serve 18 days and has been credited for 13 days time served. She has been placed on two years court probation and must pay a $300 fine.

Peter Jon Stromberg, Jr., 28, of Kelliher was sentenced for third-degree DWI to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which 350 days are stayed for three years. Stromberg must serve 15 days and may do so on work release if eligible. He was credited for one day time served. Stromberg has been placed on three years court probation and must pay a $150 fine.

Tyrone James Norris, 37, of Federal Dam was sentenced for fifth-degree possession of methamphetamine to 17 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud which has been stayed for five years. Norris must serve 120 days in the Beltrami County Jail. He has been credited for 58 days time served. Norris has been placed on five years supervised probation and must pay a $1,000 fine.

Tony Dale Jones, 52, of Bemidji was sentenced for knowingly violating predatory offender registration or intentionally providing false information to 20 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud. He has been credited for 64 days time served and must pay a $50 fine.

Cheryl Ann Whitebird, 32, of Cass Lake was sentenced for fifth-degree possession of Oxycodone to 12 months and one day in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Shakopee which has been stayed for 10 years. Whitebird must serve 180 days in the Beltrami County Jail and has been credited for 60 days time served. She has been placed on 10 years supervised probation and must pay a $1,000 fine by way of sentence to serve.

Jacob Paul Wildmo, 23, of Bemidji was sentenced for third-degree DWI to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which 335 days are stayed for three years. Wildmo must serve 30 days and may do so on work release if eligible. He has been credited for one day time served. Wildmo has been placed on three years court probation and must pay a $750 fine.

The following cases were heard Nov. 26 by Beltrami District Judge Paul T. Benshoof:

Rachael Michelle Cota, 38, of Little Falls was sentenced for second-degree DWI to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which 320 days are stayed for four years. Cota must serve 45 days and has been credited for two days time served. She has been placed on four years court probation and must pay a $500 fine.

Robert Christopher Allen Matrious, 26, of Minneapolis was sentenced for fifth-degree drug possession to 30 days in the Beltrami County Jail which he may serve on work release if eligible. He has been credited for four days time served. Matrious has been placed on five years supervised probation upon successful completion of will result in a dismissal of the charge.

Shanna Rose Kingbird, 31, of Ponemah was sentenced for fourth-degree drug sale to one year court probation upon successful completion of which will result in a dismissal of the charge.

The following cases were heard Dec. 2 by Beltrami District Judge John G. Melbye:

Frank Austin Martin, 67, of Lincoln, Mont., was sentenced for criminal vehicular homicide for operating a motor vehicle with alcohol concentration of .08 or more to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which 305 days are stayed for four years. Martin must serve 60 days and has been credited for 19 days time served. Martin has been placed on four years supervised probation and must pay a $1,000 fine in addition to $266.80 in restitution.

Curtis John Cheney, 26, of Bemidji was sentenced for third-degree DWI to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which 320 days are stayed for three years. Cheney must serve 45 days and has been credited for three days time served. He has been placed on three years court probation and must pay a $750 fine.

Leanne Marie Pacheco, 35, of Red Lake was sentenced for motor vehicle theft to 46 days in the Beltrami County Jail and has been credited for 46 days time served. Pacheco has been placed on five years supervised probation and must pay a $1,000 fine.

Dakota Lee Rognstad, 20, of Cass Lake was sentenced for second-degree burglary of a dwelling to 82 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which he must serve and has been credited for 82 days time served. He has been placed on 10 years supervised probation and must pay a $1,000 fine. Successful completion of probation will result in a misdemeanor conviction.

Shandell Denise Martell, 25, of Bemidji was sentenced for giving peace officer false name to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail which has been stayed for 18 months. Martell has been placed on 18 months court probation and must pay a $750 fine.

Kristi Lea Carlson-Garbow, 47, of Bemidji was sentenced for third-degree DWI to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which 355 days are stayed for three years. Carlson-Garbow must serve 10 days. She has been placed on three years court probation and must pay a $500 fine.
