Country star Tim McGraw at Alerus Center May 17

Country singing star Tim McGraw will bring his 2011 Emotional Traffic Tour to Grand Forks May 17 for a concert at the Alerus Center, the Alerus Center has confirmed.

Dates for the tour, which begins April 8 in Corpus Christi, Texas, and concludes Aug. 13 in Washington, D.C., were announced Wednesday. Luke Bryan and The Band Perry will tour with McGraw, the news release said.

McGraw was named the top touring act in country music by Billboard in 2010. Last year he also issued a double-disc career compilation titled "Number One Hits," which featured "Felt Good on My Lips" as a bonus track.

Currently McGraw is starring in the new film, "Country Strong," opposite Gwyneth Paltrow.

According to CMT.com, McGraw will be in Sioux City, Iowa, May 12; Peoria, Ill., May 13; and St. Paul May 14.
