Council notes for Tuesday, July 21
The Bemidji City Council voted 4-3 Monday to approve nearly $700,000 worth of change orders needed for work at the Bemidji Regional Event Center and south shore redevelopment site.

The City Council voted unanimously to direct city staff to continue its work in reviewing its leases with organizations that house city-owned buildings.
The community organizations, the council said, should be responsible for funding the continued maintenance requirements of the buildings, but the city would cover any major structural repairs deemed necessary.
The issue rose based on recent conversations with the Beltrami County Historical Society, which leases the "Depot" (or Beltrami County History Center) from the city of Bemidji.
The City Council voted unanimously to table a discussion on a reuse study on the Carnegie Library to a future work session.
Also set for discussion during that meeting (yet to be set) is a discussion on the proposal to nominate five city-owned properties for the Bemidji Historic Register.
