Council to discuss energy audit
Bemidji Minnesota P.O. Box 455 56619

BEMIDJI -- The City Councilon Monday will consider entering into a contract with Honeywell to recommend energy saving options for the city.

The city will spend $56,000 to complete an audit of city-owned buildings and "to determine current energy consumption as well as projected saving assuming energy reducing projects are completed," city finance director Ron Eischens wrote in a memo to the council.

"Once the audit is completed, Honeywell will work with city staff to prepare energy saving projects for council approval," he added.

The council meeting is set for 7 p.m. Monday.

Joint meeting

The Bemidji City Council and Beltrami County Board of Commissioners will meet Tuesday night to discuss various issues affecting both governments.

Among them are funding a library staff position, the cost of which would be shared between the two. Councilors and commissioners will also discuss potential funding for increased boat inspections on Lake Bemidji to combat aquatic invasive species.

The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Beltrami County boardroom.
