Cornell, Myers share early lead at Vandersluis
Clint Cornell and Brandon Myers share the Men's Championship lead after the first round of the Vandersluis Memorial Golf Tournament at Bemidji Town & Country Club.
Each shot a three-under-par 69 on Saturday and lead 2011 Birchmont champion Johnny Larson by two strokes.
Defending Vandersluis champion Chris Curb shot 72 and is three strokes off the lead.
There is a three-way tie at the top of the leader board in the Senior Men's Championship.
Ross Kvittem, Greg Tighe and Ray Sauer all shot three-over 75 to pace the field after the first round. John Hagge is one stroke back at 76. Bill Freeman and Rob Noren shot 77.
Round two of the three-round stroke play tournament continues Sunday and the final round is Monday.
There are 172 entrants competing in this year's Vandersluis.
