The conference is free and open to the public.

The all-day event will feature the work of nearly 200 students with presentations, performances, exhibits and poster sessions. The conference will begin at 8 a.m. with a continental breakfast in room 100 of Memorial Hall.

Hattie Kaufmann will present the keynote address, "Crossing Great Divides in Education."

Kaufmann, a former anchor on "The Early Show," was the first Native American journalist to file a report on a national network evening news broadcast.

Several events are planned, including a screening of Twin Cities Public Television's "First Speakers: Restoring the Ojibwe Language," a BSU Ceramics Club exhibition and a performance by the Kingbirg Singers.

The conference's closing celebration will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the American Indian Resource Center. The last scheduled event will be the Beaver Film Festival at 7 p.m. in Hobson Memorial Union's Beaux Arts Ballroom.
