Concordia professor plans Islam conversation on Saturday

Professor Jacqueline Bussie, a religion professor and director of Forum on Faith and Life at Moorhead's Concordia College, will participate in a Bemidji area conversation about Islam.

The presentation, "Being Good Neighbors: Why We Need to Better Understand Islam," will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The presentation will be preceded by a 5 p.m. social hour and 6 p.m. dinner.

Dessert and an informal discussion will follow the presentation.

The event will be at the home of Mary Thoreson and Terry Nielsen, 4530 Birch Run Lane SE, Bemidji.

The cost is $20 per person with checks payable to Calvary Lutheran Church. Payment should be sent to Mary Thoreson at the above address.

Bussie will be preaching at 9:30 a.m. Sunday in New Salem Lutheran Church near Turtle River. The public is welcome to attend.
