Community Theater's adult comedy weaves mistaken, made-up identities
BEMIDJI - Bemidji Community Theater Comedy "Kiss or Make Up," by Jack Sharkey opens Friday at the Wild Rose Theater, 501 Bemidji Ave N.
After two family friendly shows, the actors and director Vicki Stenerson turned their efforts toward an adult comedy about a career woman who invented a husband and daughter because she did not want to be known as single.
But the IRS wants to know why her husband has not paid taxes for years, she falls in love with a city planner while designing the zoo's new crocodile house and claims now to be a widow and confusion reigns.
With mistaken and made-up identities, the troupe of veteran actors, including Julie Kaiser, Joel Ward, Kevin Cease and Carolyn Towler, along with some up-and-coming BCT regulars - Katie Carpenter, Derrick Houle and Matt Poulis - promise to keep the audience laughing.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Monday and at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for students under 18 and available at Iverson Corner Drug in downtown Bemidji or Ken K. Thompson in the mall. Tickets will also be sold at the door starting one hour before curtain times.
