PARK RAPIDS -- Cody Johansen, 20, is talking in a slurred manner but hopes to leave North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale later Monday.
The Park Rapids Enterprise reached the Colorado man via Facebook Monday morning, 18 hours after he was thrown head first off a bull at the Jokela ProWest Bull Ride in Park Rapids on Saturday night.
He says he doesn't remember much of the incident but said he hopes to ride again this weekend if doctors perform brain tests that clear him.
Johansen was taken by ambulance to the Park Rapids airport for transport to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale for treatment of serious injuries.
A second rider, who has not been identified, was taken to CHI St. Joseph’s Health in Park Rapids on Saturday night with what was believed to have been a broken leg.
