Collin Rud, 21

Collin Rud, 21, of Fosston, died on Monday, May 21, 2007, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D., from injuries he suffered in an automobile accident near Fosston.

A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. today at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston with Rev. Paul Magelssen officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service today at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston. Burial will be in Hope Lutheran Cemetery in Fosston. The Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston assisted the family with arrangements.

He was born on May 20, 1986, to Dennis and Mary Jo (Offerdahl) Rud, in Fosston. He grew up in Fosston and graduated from Fosston High School in 2004.

He was active in athletics during his high school years, participating in football, track (participated in State competition) and golf. Following high school, he attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., where he played football on the freshman team. He was currently a student at Bemidji State University.

He was baptized, confirmed and a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston. He loved sports, music and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his parents of Fosston; brothers, Bryan of Fairfield, Conn., Derek of Fosston and Brandon at home of Fosston; three uncles and two aunts; one great-aunt; one great-uncle; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his four grandparents.
