Coats for the Community collection under way
BEMIDJI — The annual United Way of Bemidji Area’s Coats for the Community distribution is scheduled for 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at First Lutheran Church, located on Bemidji Avenue between Ninth and 10th streets. The program is one of United Way’s impact initiatives to help meet basic needs of those who may otherwise have to go without, while also helping families become more financially stable.
Community members have been donating new or clean, gently used, men’s, women’s, infant and children’s coats and snowsuits, as well as winter accessories such as boots, scarves, gloves and hats. Community members in need of warm coats and other winter wear items are welcome to attend the Coats for the Community event. There is no cost to attend, and no registration required.
United Way’s Annual Coats for the Community drive is made possible through support from Paul Bunyan Broadcasting’s KZY 95.5, Z99, KBUN Sports Radio and Continuous Country KB101 and First Lutheran Church Bemidji.
