Clarence "Bud" Healy, 93, of Bemidji, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home in Bemidji with the Rev. Dean Nelson officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji.
He was born on Aug. 26, 1915, in Bemidji. He grew up in Bemidji and graduated from Bemidji High School. After graduating from high school he worked on the railroad on the Iron Range. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in the European Theatre. After being honorably discharged, he came back to Bemidji and worked in construction. In 1938, he married Dorothy Hubert in Bemidji. He retired in 1977. He enjoyed ice fishing (spearing), gardening, mowing the lawn, going to the casino and snowmobiling.
He is survived by his son, Donald Healy of Bemidji; daughter, Jean (Jim) Sauer of Bemidji; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Dorothy.
