Clarence "Bill" Sorenson
Clarence "Bill" Sorenson, 63, of Laporte, MN, died Saturday, September 28, 2013 at his home.
Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 4, 2013 at the United Methodist Church, Bemidji, MN with Pastor Gay Albers officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in Jones Township Cemetery, Solway, MN.

Clarence William Sorenson was born October 13, 1949 in Bemidji, MN to Clarence and Pauline (Lebak) Sorenson. He grew up in Solway and he graduated from Bemidji High School in 1967. He attended Bemidji Vo-Tech from 1967 graduating in 1969 from auto mechanics. On July 11, 1970 he married Gail Warner in Bemidji, MN. In August of 1970 he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam as an auto mechanic in the motor pool. He was discharged in March of 1972 and then attended the vo-tech for auto machinist. He was an auto mechanic at Bemidji Chrysler for over 30 years and could fix anything and wasnt afraid of getting his hands dirty. Bill enjoyed spending time with his 3 grandchildren. He liked fishing, hunting, wood working, playing cribbage, farkel, watching the Twins and Vikings and watching birds and deer. Bill was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Sorenson of Laporte; daughter, Sara (Adrian) Staples of Bemidji; 3 grandchildren, Alicia Sorenson, Amaya Sorenson and Aidan Staples all of Bemidji; 3 sisters, Shirley (Jerry) Collett of St. Paul, Polly Huewe, of Bemidji; and Karren (Bert) Clark of Bemidji and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ryan Sorenson in 2008; parents Clarence and Pauline Sorenson; 4 brothers, Marvin, Donald, Neil and Dale and 1 sister, Alice Clark.
