Clara Jasperson, 89, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Bagley, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, in Mesa.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Faith Lutheran Church in Bagley with Mardy Schermerhorn and John Omans officiating. Burial will be in Bagley City Cemetery in Bagley.
The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
She was born on July 20, 1919, to Tilda and Claude Aldrich in Bagley. She married Ernest Jasperson on May 19, 1937. They raised their four children in Bagley. She loved sewing, so she opened "The Yardstick", a fabric and crafts store in Bagley. They spent a lot of time traveling throughout the United States. They eventually spent part of their time in Pharr, Texas, and the rest in Bagley.
She enjoyed old time waltzes, fishing, crocheting and quilting. She lost a son, Ernest Wayne, in an accident in 1962 at the age of 22 and her husband in 1996. She began traveling south to spend the winters in Austin, Texas, where her daughter, Darlene, was living. In 2002, she sold her home in Bagley and went to live with her daughter full time in Phoenix, Ariz.
She is survived by her son, Jack (Elaine) Jasperson of Cave Creek, Ariz.; daughters, Darlene (Michael Johnson) Jasperson of Mesa, Ariz., and Elaine Burgoon of Burbank, Calif.; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and son, Ernest Wayne, in 1962.
