The City Council convenes at 7 p.m. Monday in council chambers at Bemidji City Hall, 317 Fourth St. N.W.

The City Council on April 30 voted to award the construction contract for the new public works building to Kraus-Anderson. The total cost of construction, according to council documents, is $7.9 million and GO bonds total $4,138,000 of the overall cost.

In order to complete the project, the council on May 21 voted to amend its five-year CIP. Now, to comply with state regulations, the councilors also must hold a public hearing the revised CIP.

The new public works now is under construction along Fifth Street Northwest on the west side of Bemidji.

The council also will receive an update on the Bemidji Youth Advisory Commission, consider a wine and on-sale beer license for Hungry Bear Buffet, consider a gambling application for North Country Health Services (which plans to hold a raffle on Aug. 9), and consider a liquor transfer for the Green Mill, among other items.
