Christine Pearl (Tyler) Parsons, of Bemidji, MN, and Macduff, Scotland died March 7th, 2013 in Odessa, TX, of complications after battling for more than four years with cancer.

Funeral Service will be 10 am on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Mt. Zion Church, 414 Lincoln Ave SE, Bemidji, MN with Steve Thompson. Visitation will be from 6 pm – 9 pm Thursday at Mt. Zion Church and an hour before the service on Friday. Interment will be at Turtle River Township Cemetery. Memorial services will be held in Farmington, ME, on May 7th and Macduff, Scotland on June 6th.

Chris, as she preferred to be known, was the wife of John Parsons, the mother of Danielle and Samuel, the grandmother of Naomi, Zuriel, Keziah, Eva and Elspeth, mother in-law to Ethan and Kristen, the daughter of Noella Davis, and the sister of Cassandra Richard and Linda Davis.

Chris was born May 19, 1959 to Noella Sadie Tyler in Farmington, ME. She graduated in 1978 from Mt. Blue High School in Farmington, ME, and was the first person in her family to attain a four year degree, earning a BA in Biblical Studies from Evangel College, Springfield, MO in 1981. Chris spent more than 20 years of her life living overseas. Soon after she graduated from college Chris launched out to work in Europe with Teen Challenge, that was where she met John Parsons and they were married in the United Kingdom in 1983. Chris and her husband went on to do mission work together in Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, England, Scotland and latterly in northern Minnesota. Chris was ordained as a minister of the gospel in 1996. Chris home-schooled her two children, taught other missionary children at a school in Latvia and led Vacation Bible Schools in the UK. She assisted her husband to establish the Focus Foundation, a non profit missions/community organization in Scotland, and co-founded My Life Radio, a ministry of Mt. Zion Church in Bemidji, MN. Chris had also served as Church Secretary at Mt. Zion Church and worked with her husband doing conference video production in Minnesota.Chris was always up for an adventure; she crossed into East Berlin when the iron curtain was still in place, traveled across Russia by train and traversed both Europe and the US multiple times by road. The ocean was one of her great loves along with all shades of blue, lighthouses and birch trees. She was an accomplished cook and a keen gardener. In her latter years Chris very especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Chris was preceded in death by her brother, Leroy Harold Davis, her grandfather, Harold Elmer Tyler, her grandmother, Violette Christine Tyler, and her “dad”, Clifford Leroy Davis.

She is survived by her husband John Parsons of Bemidji, MN and Macduff, Scotland;

her daughter Danielle Miller of Richfield, MN;

her son Samuel Parsons of Bemidji, MN;

her grandchildren, Naomi, Zuriel and Keziah Miller of Richfield, MN, and Eva and Elspeth Parsons of Bemidji, MN;

her mother, Noella Davis, of Wilton, ME;

her sisters, Linda Davis, of Portland, ME, and Cassandra Richard, of Farmington,ME;

her niece, Sheila Davis, of Chesterville, ME;

and nephews Michael Davis of Wilton, ME, Seth Searles of Phillips, ME, Peter Richard Jr. of Skowhegan, ME, and Justin Lowe of Wilton, ME
